The Young Australian of the Year Awards
recognise the diverse talents and achievement of Australian youth. The awards are not only
about rewarding success, they also aim to encourage and acknowledge all young Australians
to strive to do their best in their chosen field of endeavour. |
The Federal
Government's Regional Initiative Award
Many young men and women are making an
exceptional contribution to building a stronger and better life throughout the regional
areas of Australia.
Dedicated young achievers are working towards fully developing the needs of their
communities through a multitude of services and professions in the primary, secondary and
tertiary sectors, ultimately enhancing the quality of life and opportunities for that
region.
These young Australians are supporting and caring for the
health, environment,
employment, culture and social well-being of regional communities. Their commitment and
vision is helping to nurture the national resources and industries of regional Australia.
All their efforts play a major part in developing a stronger and richer life in their area
- which ultimately means a better life for us all. This award applauds and encourages
their commitment to excellence.
